Bottle. Almost clear gold with a dense white head that lasts very well. Aroma of strong bread, marmalade oranges & kumquats, light spices, flowers. 8+ Full bodied, just getting towards syrupy with moderate carbonation. Sweet with bread and candi sugar before the slightly caramelized citrus starts to grip. Fairly bitter towards the end. Some overt alcohol. Very long bitter citrus finish. Whereas the normal blonde has depth and balance whilst remaining refreshing, this one does it with majesty.

Creamy, citric aroma. Sweet, citric creamy even a bit candy-like flavor. But after the initial sweetness a firm hopbitterness comes up, resulting in a creamy bitter aftertaste. Very good!

27 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Deputy Taster: Anke. Cheers to Ama Deke, Erwin, John & Meeki! Hazy ochre, lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of ripe banana & apricot, yellow apple, dough, mango, wheat, clove, honey. Taste is medium fruity sweet, lots of ripe banana & pineapple on a honeyish & bready malty base, spicy bitter tones of clove, apple peel & grass, sourish wheat & lemon underneath. Dryish, peppery hoppy finish, more ripe banana, honey & bread, some warming white wine-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. ‘Classic’ Belgian blond, not revolutionary but a good example in its own right.

Clear blond colour with thin soapy head. Aroma and flavour have light spicy yeast and a little malty sweetness. Clean and well balanced.

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Yeasty, malty aroma with notes of cereals, bread, honey and flowery hops. Moderately sweet flavour, full bodied with a modest carbonation. Grainy malt character with Belgian yeasty spice, white bread, a touch of honey and flowery hops towards the finish, getting slightly grassy at the very end. Decent. 26.XII.17

Bouteille: Golden, hazy, big and stable beaten-egg-white-like head, solid nose of grains, honey and yeast with shy herbal hops in the background; solid sweet flavour with a delicate bitterness, full bodied and astonishingly soft; slightly lingering - a bit boozy - sweet malty finish with a delicate hoppy note. Good, but not great...

0.75l bottle. Hazy golden hody with a hufe white head. Sweet malty base with notes of honey, sugar syrup and bread that is overpowered by the floral and spicy hops. Complex and round tripel. One of the bests from the style I have met with.

Front Label with: Achelse Kluis. Drink in Ename glesses with duck, potatos and green salat. Jak na piwo Trapistow to ma niesamowita jakosciowa piane. Chyba najokazalsza jaka widzialem w piwach Cystersow. Barwa morelowa, lekko mglista, nieco osadu bylo. Zapach biszkoptow, kruchej szarlotki. W smaku sporo oleistej struktury, slodkosc biszkoptowa zmieszana z suszona morela, kwaskowe mirabelki gdzies w oddali. Przy jasnym piwie ukrycie alkoholu to nie lada sztuka. Tak jest w tym przypadku. Dawno nie testowalem klasztornego Tripla i dlatego jestem mega zachwycony z tej doskonalej przyjemnosci i jakosci

75 cl bottle acquired at the Achelse Kluis’s supermarket, served in white wine glasses. It pours honey-hued hazy dark golden. Ivory head is dense, thick and long-lasting. Aroma is intense roses, accompanied by muscat grapes, dry lemon, quince, smoky, papaya and marzipan. Fantastic smell. Taste is alcoholic yet refreshing, with umami and metallic touches. Oily, mouth-covering, full-bodied. Bitterish, long-lingering finish with more rose to it. Great.
