The St. Sebastiaan Dark is a dark, medium to heavy high fermented abbey beer that tastes both sweet and bitter on the tongue. This St. Sebastiaan has a strong, sweet aroma of caramel and malt and gives you a full taste in the mouth. It is re-fermented on the jug and on the bottle by the brewery. The result is a nice, clear beer with a wonderful aroma and, for those who love it, a nice touch of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

17th May 2008. Smooth brown beer. Slightly sour. Has a mild chocolatey taste and the barest hint of toasted malt. Easy drinking.

75cl Bottle. Clear dark brown colour, off white head. Aroma of brown sugar, molasses, dark malts and some metal. Flavour is sweet, molasses, caramel, malts, light roasted malts, light bitter finish. Medium bodied, prickly mouthfeel. OK, but a bit too sweet and one dimensional.

500 ml ceramic bottle from BevMo Salinas. Nose is molasses and light breadiness. Clear dark cherry brown with a few bubbles. Flavor is heavy dark molasses, raisins, and light spice.

Clear dark amber with tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt and caramel notes. Flavour is sweet with roasted malt, caramel and ripe fruits. Finished sweet.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a diminished white head. Mild spiced and slight wineous aroma. Sweet malty with a light roasted flavour with a light spice note coming through. Lingering spice note. Smooth and slight roasted malty flavoured with a lingering mild spiced finish.
