Introduced in 2008 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Bush Caractère, this Triple is based on the Bush Caractère that is then re-fermented in 75cl bottles.
The in-bottle re-fermentation produces an extraordinarily gentle and rounded beer with a natural yeast cloud. It has the characteristic taste and aromas of the Bush Caractère mother beer. Both the splendid screen-printed bottle and the champagne-style cork contribute to Bush Caractère Refermentée prestigious image.

Bottle at ZBF09. Weak caramelly aroma. Cloudy dark amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour is nicely malty with just a hint of roasted malts. Slightly sweet, but more than balanced by the alcohol. The finish is a bit alcoholic, and with a slightly rough bitterness.

75cl bottle. The man who did up the front of my mother’s house got given this and he didn’t want it, so gave it to me instead. Thanks Steve, I can’t thank you enough. Hazy reddish amber, thick lasting beige head. Not a lot of aroma escapes that thick head, what does is a toffee/caramel mix. Lots of carbonation, but the malts are relatively soft in the mouth. The initial hit was toffeee and alcohol, but it does settle down a bit. Some heat on the end. Is it any good? Well the toffee malts are pretty good. Some hop on the end, but the sting feels more like carbonation than hoppy. Alcohol is a bit crude, especially on the finish. it’s a bit better than average.

Bottled (as Scaldis Refermentée). Hazy orange/amber. Sweet and caramelly. Fruity with lots of almonds and fierce peppery alcohol. Relaxed caramelly malt backbone balance the alcohol. Warming finish with valvetty caramel.

Tasting at Papsoe
Hazy amber color; big head. Positive: semi-sweet caramel flavor with a touch of almonds. Negative: too light aroma, too strong alcohol perception (mostly at the end), too simple. On the edge between good beer and booze. Not something that I’m going to run for.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small and diminished white head. Spiced and vague butterish nose/alcohol dense. Solid spiced and dense alcohol flavoured on the back of the nose. Dry malty and slight wooden with a distinct alcohol warmth into the finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Grovlam. Comes as "Dubuisson Scaldis Ambrée Refermentée". Pours a hazy deep golden with floating impurities and a tall and lively off-white head. Aroma of overripe fruit, caramel and alcohol. Very full-bodied with yeast and overripe fruit - even some cognac accents that lead to a burning alcoholic finish. Somewhat raw and unrefined. 311008

Very lively carbonation to good, cream-coloured, collapsing head over hazy red-amber beer, UFO-riddled. Warm alcohol nose, cookies; slightly iodine-shellfish aroma, and very roasted, as a roasted cake, flambéed with brandy. Alcohol, honey, amber malts, almonds and old hazelnuts. More roasted bitterness (restrained) than hoppy, but no burnt notes, no Maillard. Slightly medicinal, estery notes, and especially dried apricot, especially retronasal. Very creamy MF, despite the beer being alleviated by the constant carbonation, much livelier than the filtered version. Overall: The creamy, yeasty MF and flavours completely change the data for this beer (brewery reps give an actual +1% ABV minimum), despite the apparent kinship.
