Sweet malt character comes from the pale malt and some toffee character comes from the crystal malt. A little roasted barley adds a touch of astringency. Special yeast adds fruity esters. The hops give classic clean herbal and resin hop flavour with a moderate easy drinking bitterness.

Cask at GBBF 2010. An amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, elderflowers, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrusy hops, and caramel. The malt seem chewy.

Cask, handpump at The Highwayman, Kidlington, Oxon, whilst Morris Dancing at the pub 11.07.11 Pours brown with good clarity and an off white head. Fruity in the mouth with middling bitterness, and a fruity tang also noted. Itโ€™s ok and perfectly acceptable but not an exciting beer. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask at The Old Explorer (a GK pub), London, under its assumed alias London Glory. Beautiful mahogany colour, coarse small off-white head. No aroma detectable. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour, moderate hops. Drinkable, but not exciting. Youโ€™d think GK should be able to come up with something better than this.

Cask handpull at Betjamen Arms, St Pancras station. Darkish brown, thin beige head. Some GK yeast over an ok if underwhelming bitter. Some bitterness on finish. Itโ€™s ok-ish. GK yeast runs through it. I mean it is a bitter so ticks those boxes. Not unpleasant.

[Cask at the Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross, London, 26/6/10; rating 6/3/7/4/14] Deep amber-red. Good rich malt, toffee & raisin bitter, just the way I like โ€™em! Surprisingly good for a GK "special". [Re-rate, cask at the Tartar Frigate, Broadstairs, 20/5/11; rating 5/4/4/2/9] (rebranded as London Glory) Amber, moderate off-white head, toffee, mild dusty hop bitterness in finish. Another boring GK identikit beer. Donโ€™t know what I was thinking of with my original rating - I must have been pissed! Rating given is average of the two pints.
