Sweet malt character comes from the pale malt and some toffee character comes from the crystal malt. A little roasted barley adds a touch of astringency. Special yeast adds fruity esters. The hops give classic clean herbal and resin hop flavour with a moderate easy drinking bitterness.

Gravity dispense at the ’Quinns Head’ pub inside Twickenham Stoop Rugby ground during half time of the Harlequins vs Salegame - 15/09/12. Badged as ’London Glory’. Clear mid amber with a thinnish off-white head that retained well. Typical Green King nose, yeast, light toffee. Taste follows, grain, toffee. Medium bodied with that dry GK finish. Dull.

Bottle: Amber coloured, small and stable off-white foamy layer, dryish fruity and toasty nose sith very delicate herbal hops underneath; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; slightly lingering bitter-malty finish with the faintest touch of vegetables. At least drinkable, but "glory" means anything different to me…

Cask at the Goat and Tricycle, Bournemouth. A lovely golden brown pour, with a nice white lacy frothy head. No real aroma and nothing special taste wise either. It's a classic English bitter with a nice malty flavour and a bitter palate. A very decent session ale, but nothing that makes is stand out from the crowd. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle, London Glory, 4.0% abv) Clear, dark amber colour with a medium-sized and tanned foamy head. Cara-malty aroma with hints of vanilla and subtle fruity notes. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Initially cara-malty taste with nutty, subte fruity and spicy hoppy notes; bitter-sweet and slightly grassy finish. Quite balanced and decent brew. 23.VI.12

500ml bottle [London Glory]. Clear amber/copper colour with average frothy to macropore off-white head. Grassy and strawy hop notes in the aroma. Taste is initially malty with bitter hoppy overtone, gains with the carbonation becoming effective an increasing metallic note, hop then oscillates between bitter and soapy. If this is what Greene King thinks celebrating "the country’s capital" is worthy of - well, then sincere condolences, London.

Came across this beer at ‘The Old Spring’ in Cambridge, England late Nov 2011: pump clip called it ’London Glory’ . Having never heard of it before I decided to order a pint from the young lady behind the bar. Hand pulled by the said young lady into a Greene King IPA badged pint sleeve. The beer was an amber colour with a medium depth (quarter of an inch) of white head: made up of tight bubbles, it looked fine. The nose a blend of citrusy hops and malty caramel esters: nothing very strong, but a slight aroma when really searched for. Nothing huge in the taste area, some hints of malts if I’m being kind: with some floral hop content so weak I had trouble detecting it. Yet another Greene King product that seems to be brewed from some base wort and then tweaked to be a new beer. It was my first beer of a long weekend drinking mission and although I quite enjoyed its blandness because it quenched my thirst and prepared me for what was to follow, I’ll never have had another one by choice.
