Sweet malt character comes from the pale malt and some toffee character comes from the crystal malt. A little roasted barley adds a touch of astringency. Special yeast adds fruity esters. The hops give classic clean herbal and resin hop flavour with a moderate easy drinking bitterness.

Mid brown appearance, has a small head and small sweet aroma. Has a mild sweet bitterness but its greatest asset is its smooth texture.

Bottle at Chriso Snow Tasting, thanks to Leighton, 20/01/13. Clear golden amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge. Nose carries pale malts, orchard fruit, light hops, spice. Taste comprises grain, pale malt, faint summer fruit. Medium bodied, some light spritz on the carbonation front, bitter finish. Not good, not bad, file under ’W’ for whelmed!

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London - one of my contributions! Pours clear amber with a good, off-white froth head. Pukey malt aroma, lots of pasteurisation character. Light sweet flavor, brown bready malts, some dry leaves, faint earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately dry finish, more brown bread, dusty earth. OK.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a loose cream head; aroma of over-boiled hops; sweet caramel malt flavour with some unpleasantly woody hops giving a subdued bitter finish. Over pasteurised and rather unpleasant. Rated 8-May-12.

(on tap) Clear mahogany, white head. Very littel aroma. Light body, light carbonation. Candy and caramel foretaste, falls flat and watery. Overall OK, but rather disappointingly flat in finish.
