Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, balanced peat, whiskey, chocolate, coffee, some smoke and a little liquorice. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and mildly bitter. Body is a little above medium, could have used some more carbonation. Better than the Bowmore BA, this one has more complexity with less liquorice and more choc/coffee. Good one.

Bottle. Black. Malt, licorice and dominating peat in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with roast, laurel, licorice and dominating peat. Whisky. Low on carbon. I love Laphroaig, but this beer lacks balance.

Bottle from E-Drinks @ home. Black with no head at all.. Smells sweet, peat, fingerpaint, roasty, liquorice, loads of wood, whisky. Tastes roasty, wood, peat, fingerpaint, sweet, liquorice, some coffee and chocolate. Full body, soft carbo. As far as laproaig barrel aged beers go, this probably is the best one for me. Just the amount of peat I can handle without feeling like I'm eating a bottle of fingerpaint.

Flesje gedeeld door TomHendriksen. Donkerbruin bier met matig beige schuim. Aroma is houtig en rokerig. Smaak is houtig en kruidig. Nasmaak is bitter en peperachtig.

Fles gedeeld met Inoven. Het is een donker bruin bier met weinig schuim. De geur van hout is goed aanwezig. De smaak van hout is lekker, alleen een beetje teveel rooksmaak. Beetje peper in de nasmaak.

Bottle @ home. Opaque black color, medium sized brown head. Aroma is malts, heavy peat and liquor, fingerpaint I used as a kid that’s what it reminds me of. Taste also has that distinct peaty, fingerpaint flavor running through at all time. Not really my thing, however I find the barrel aging well done. It’s not over the top as you see often. Body is average to medium, carbonation is soft. Solid, but not my kind of beer.

Glass at 24 uurs van Maastricht 2017: not much different from the bowmore variant, but this one packs a bit more punch with the aroma and taste. Black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, whisky, some peat, roast. Taste is the same, chocolate, bitter dry, very nice.
