Draught at Belgobaren, Stockholm. Hazy golden, small head. Dry yet fruity. Light bodied with notes of mango and marzipan. Feels refreshingly light and without edges. Well made.

(Draught at Hörnan Belgobar, Stockholm) Golden brass colour with brief white head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of dried tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) and spicy hops. Spicy, slightly yeasty taste with tropical fruit and spicy hops in the finish. Not overly sweet. Not really complex, but deceptively easy too drink and quite nice.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is nuts, yeast, hops and some caramel. Flavour is fruits, yeast and some nuts. Quite typical De Koninck product. Some slight spicyness also show once it gets warmer.

A light golden ale with a thin lacing white head. Aroma of honey, malt, and cardboard. In mouth, crisp malt, with astringent grassy notes, a bit of rubber, not so good. Bought at LCBO, Dec. 2006. BB May 2006.

Bottle, 6%. Clear golden colour, OK white head. Fruity aroma. The flavour is also fruity, a little yeasty with a hint of veg. But the alcohol does well to harmonize the beer.

Huge white creamy head over clear yellow body with carbonation. Deep aroma of tropical fruit and soft metal, as well as notes of wet paper and honey. Light papery tropical fruit taste, slightly acidic. Dry soft metal and water aftertaste with spice notes. Not bad, but some flaws, and a bit boring. (0.4l on tap at de Groote Witte Arend in Antwerp, where it was billed as "de Arend Blond". It really is de Koninck Blond, though.)

Golden with white head. Lively carbonation. Very pilsner like. A bit watery texture. Little yeasty. Pleasant finish. Overall ordinary!

Draught at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Belgian yeasty blonde, quite creamy and full in mouth. Refreshing blonde with some citrus, but mostly yeasty. Good though. Dryish finish.

Bottle: Poured a dark yellow color ale with a huge foamy white head with excellent retention. Aroma of nice lightly funky Belgian yeast with good sweet malt presence. Taste is quite refreshing with a nice dose of sweet malt and a light funky yeast presence at the end. Body is above average for the style and carbonation is excellent. A good example of a Belgian Pale Ale which seems underrated here.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, orangey golden colour with a small, creamy head. Some malt and a small, dry bitterness. Actually has a strong alcohol presence in spite of the rather suddued alcohol for a Belgian. Reminds me more of a strong lager. Have a suspicion that this is actually just a renamed "Antoon". I’m sad to say this, but De Koninck hasn’t really made a decent beer since Cuvee d’Antwerpen in 1993. 200505
