Virginia India Pale Ale otherwise known as Virgindia Pale Ale
The embodiment of true Virginia hospitality, Hardywood VIPA offers alluring tropical aromatics, a refreshingly delicate body and a bright, juicy finish. Heirloom Virginia barley rounds out the malt bill and creates a perfect sense of balance with a dose of citrusy Virginia hops. VIPA is our take on a Virginia India Pale Ale, or as we like to call it, Virgindia Pale Ale. Our interpretation of a Virginia IPA is crafted with locally sourced ingredients, from golden barley grown in the coastal plains to hops cultivated in the Appalachian piedmont. Pleasantly refreshing on the humid days of summer, but flavorful enough to satisfy on a cool winter evening, VIPA is just one more reason Virginia is for lovers.
Hardywood VIPA is the culmination of an extensive development process that included a search for the finest Virginia-sourced ingredients we could find. VIPA proudly features Virginia-grown hops from Piedmont Hops, LLC, Huguenot Hops and Misty Mill Hops at Rockmill Farm, as well as two-row barley grown by Bay's Best Feed in Heathsville, VA and malted at Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, VA.

Hazy paleish orange - gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has a light fine crispness. Very light malts bring and equally modest sweetness. Light floralness. Light fresh orangey, whisper of hop spice. Touch of mellow grapefruit. Light crisp finish. Clean but frustratingly polite.

Bottle from GBBF 2017 and drunk at home. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Good hoppy grapefruit pale ale. Lovely apa. First beer of day always tastes good. Some resin and earthiness in the mouth. Good. Liked it a lot.
