Similar to Belgian-style Strong Pales, the Tripel is often characterized by its lighter color, spicy aromatics, and complexity. Brother David’s Triple is brewed with copious amounts of pale malts as well as Belgian candi sugar, giving it a deep golden hue, medium body and rich mouth feel. The dense head gives off aromas of candied orange peel, clover honey, pears, and a hint of freshly mown fields. The fruity esters and spicy hop flavors balance the phenolic characteristics leading to a peppery, citrusy finish.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours clear pale orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, pear, melon, candy, grainy, booze, doughy, honey and cereal. The taste is sweet, juicy, orange, tangerine, sugary, apple, light tartness, grainy, booze, paper and some astringency with a short, hot finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Meh.

35,5 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Slightly hazy dark golden with a white head. Spicy fruity aroma. Boozy taste but in a good way. Quite different from the traditional Belgian triples but very solid an enjoyable.

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 10.0%. Slightly hazy deep golden colour. Malty aroma with oxidised notes, but also interesting vinous and oaky notes. Some vinous and oaky notes in the medium sweet flavour, acceptable hops in the finish. Slightly warming mouthfeel.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Bjørnøy 07.02.15. Orange. Off-white head. Fruity aroma, with bananas and orange marmelade. Surprisingly refreshing taste. Still fruity.

Bottle by Fajry, thanks. Aroma typical Belgian trippelly, spicy, light fruity. Clear deep golden colour with a spark. Taste is heavy, spicy, candy noticed. Classic. Good one. Rather hard drinking though.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is big yeast, malt, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich yeast resin alcoholic bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Well put together but nothing stand out for style. Coriander, floral yeast, some booze and a touch of citrus tang. Pours dark amber. Finishes with alight sweetness and some boozy bitterness. Bottle.
