Similar to Belgian-style Strong Pales, the Tripel is often characterized by its lighter color, spicy aromatics, and complexity. Brother David’s Triple is brewed with copious amounts of pale malts as well as Belgian candi sugar, giving it a deep golden hue, medium body and rich mouth feel. The dense head gives off aromas of candied orange peel, clover honey, pears, and a hint of freshly mown fields. The fruity esters and spicy hop flavors balance the phenolic characteristics leading to a peppery, citrusy finish.

Very hazy bright orange Peach and strawberry are strong in this one. Almost no booze or spice on the nose. A mild sour taste or just a bit acidic. Quite fruity and sweet. I get raspberries and peaches. It’s very sweet and I don’t taste any of the booze.

Strong American tripel, brewed according to Belgian traditions. It’s nice, but it lacks the complex yeastiness and spicyness that the best Belgian tripels have.

Draught @ Toronado, San Francisco, CA
Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a few bubbles. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, alcohol, sugar, banana and dried fruits. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a warm and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Toronado. It pours a small off white head over a clear, golden body. The aroma is quite sweet and fruity, with too much alcohol. Banana and some spice hints. Full bodied and warming, with soft carbonation. Fruityneness and sweetness in the flavor, hints of banana. Bitterness chimes in towards end end. Definitely not the best triple ivehad. 130804

Slabe jak na ten styl belgijski. Orginaly sporo lepsze. Niewielka piana, male wysycenie, kompletny brak osadu drozdzowego i az 10% alk. To mi wyglada na kiepski polski strong lager niz na belgian Tripel. W smaku alkoholowe slodowe i za bardzo slodkawe. Zawiodlem sie po raz pierwszy na tym solarnym mikro browarem.

Pale brown colour which is dark for a Tripel. Aroma is very sweet with some caramel in there. Flavour is heavily sweet and warming from the alcohol. Some lighter, fruitier sweetness would even this one out a little.

It’s not really a Christmas Tasting in Odense. Golden with a small white head. The aroma has a little caramel and vanilla quite a bit of pure alcohol. Sweet and alcoholic flavour with some fruity notes and a touch of spice
