Die sorgfältige Komposition aus Weizenmalz und schonend gerösteten, karamellisierten Spezialmalzen verleiht Maisel’s Weisse Dunkel seine schwarz-rote Mahagonifarbe und seine große Geschmacksvielfalt. Beim Geruch dominiert der malzig-würzige Charakter in harmonischem Einklang mit einer typischen, leicht fruchtigen Weissbiernote, bevor sich im Antrunk ein zartbitterer, vollmundig-würziger Geschmack verschiedenster Malzaromen entfaltet. Diese bestimmen angenehm das weitere Geschmackserlebnis und verbinden sich mit Frucht- und Nelken-Aromen zu einem vollmundigen und süffigen Weissbiergenuss.

Bottle. Brown with a large but collapsing pale beige head. Aroma of spiced bread, light touch of toast and chocolate. Light bodied - almost watery. Very fizzy. Not a lot of richness before typical spicy yeasty tangy notes of cloves, white pepper and coriander. Seemed a little softer and welcoming after a few swirls. Still not quite my sort of thing.

0.5 l bottle from local 'Dursty', best before October 2018. Hazy, dark brownish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite yeasty-spicy and slightly roasty aroma of overripe banana, bread crust, toasted nuts, clove and some caramel. Quite sweet, malty, rather yeasty-spicy, a bit roasty and minimally watery taste of caramel, chocolate, overripe banana, nuts and clove, followed by a short, moderately bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and dry finish with a touch of roast. Almost medium-bodied, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid Dunkelweizen, a bit too watery though.

Bottle. Hazy brown color with off-white head. Aroma is fresh yeast, chocolate, mineralic. Taste is chocolate, puffed rice, chalky, mineralic, a touch tartness. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. A bit too dry for me.

From old tasting notes. Translucent dark brown color with a big creamy tan head. And lots of small bubbles. Roasted semisweet redolent of dark molasses. Lightly carbonated dry malt flavor upfront. Brief subtle hop finish. Very Porter-like. Lacking in complexity, but still quite good.

Bottle, 500 ml, courtesy of JFK10000, shared with him and Max. Pours brown, fair lacing. Medium+ off-white head. Caramel, malty, yeast, some bananas. Soft carbonation, medium sweetness. Thin. Medium bodied.

Almost black in colour, but quite cloudy. Clean and crisp for sure. Pretty solid for the style, a bit more roasty note for this dunkel would propel it a lot higher in my opinion. Bottle from LB.(3.5 Feb 2017) Boy was i wrong and didn’t understand the style. This is a good beer, drank in germany online bottle from hier gibt bier

Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle, best by May 27, 2017 poured into a weizen glass. Dark brown with large brown highlights and medium off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, clove, Banana; medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is chocolate, clove, and banana. Top of the line dunkleweizen.
