Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout

Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math.
This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

Sample at Beer Meets Wood on 09/23/2017. Black pour with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Bourbon, malt and dark fruit in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, roast malt, dark fruit and coffee. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and chocolate malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.

750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of oily roasted malts, a bit of coconut, light bourbon and nutty sweet chocolate. Flavors of a bourbony Oh Henry bar. Sweet, malty caramels and nuttiness, Warm pleasant finish. Beauty.

Tap at Gambrinus for the AtG tap-takeover. Huge milk chocolate, fudge brownies and ovaltine on the nose. Very creamy milk chocolate and faint roasted vanilla bean on the palate. So, rich and decadent. Not overly chewy, but not thin...body is just right. Endless chocolate and bourbon hints on the finish. Stellar stuff.
