Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math.
This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

Tap (Fermentoren, Copenhagen). Completely black with brown head, maybe not long-lasting but small ring around the glass is quite long. Aroma is great with sweet note of vanilla, delicate note of wood, oak, makes me happy. Very similar in taste with notes of vanilla, chocolate and a bit bitter note of oak wood. Beer is very smooth with completely hidden alcohol, full body but light in feeling, very, very good. One of the best beer I?ve ever drunk. Excellent balance between sweetness ofor vanila, milk and wood bitterness.

Draught @ Protelariat. Inky black with small frothy tan head, mocha aroma laced with rum, slightly sweet espresso taste with strong alcohol overtones, low carbonation, medium bitter finish. Strong alcohol dominance.

On tap at Beercraft. It pours super dark brown with a mocha colored head. The aroma is decadent with fudge, smores, caramel and roasted malt. Hints of smoke. The flavor is the same. Delicious and rich with fudge, fig jam, smores, smoke and solid roasted malt. I didnt pick up much barrel influence. So tasty and dessert like with almost no alcohol burn. Yum.
