Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math.
This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

On tap at Apex, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lactose notes, chocolate, oak and roast. Flavour packs some serious heat, with loads of alcoholic boozy heat, wood, roasted malt, lactose and cocoa. Quite boozy, packing quite the burn, though well-structured. Drinkable in very small amounts. Good stuff.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #8. Draft at The Beer Trappe, Lexington. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, whiskey. The taste is big bourbon notes, wood, roasted malts, bitter chocolate, vanilla. Medium bodied, decent balance. Alcohol presence is there but not over the top. Nice beer.

very dark brown colour, half inch of brown creamy head; aroma of cherry, herbal liqueur, some vanilla, chocolate, hints of alcohol...and the expectorant of my childhood, mixtura pectoralis; taste is the same with significant bitter aftertaste follwoing the complex bittersweet taste - perfect imperial stout

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear, brown-black with a fine, tan cream head. Exceedingly rich but still pretty nicely balanced. Lots of chocolatey malts, raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Oily chocolate in the finish, some boozy warmth. Very tasty.
