A vivid golden bitter, designed to offer pale beer with real taste and aromatic impact. The initial bitterness is followed by a surprising sweetness culminating with a long dry finish.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A pale amber pour with a loose white head; fruity aroma; slightly tart, fruity taste; then a dry herbal bitterness. Pleasant, but not memorable.

Cask at Sun Inn. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has lots of biscuit with grains and hay backing. Flavor has lots of earthy grains and biscuit with a touch of hay supporting.

Bottle. Clear golden pour. Small white head. Aroma: biscuit & honey, spicy & floral hop, a metallic hint. Light body. The balance is on the sweet side. Biscuit. Light hopping. Drier spicy / herbal finish. Drinkable.

Bottle from Booths, Kirkby Lonsdale. Appearance - golden with a thin head that disappears quckly. Nose - lemon barley water. Taste - more lemon barley water, almost shandy-esque in fact. Light cardboard note at the back, but not too invasive. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly fresh finish. Overall - a bit simple and thin, to be honest.
