A mighty hop-lover’s dream, Hop Rising adds malty backbone to an intense Imperial IPA. This insanely smooth, dry-hopped ale has everything: 9% ALC/VOL, 72 IBUs, and yes, that’s our master brewer Jason Stock pitching in on the label.

Bottle split at GBBF ’14, day 1, 12/08/14 thanks to JF. Lightly hazed golden amber with moderate off white edgeing and spotting. Nose is caramel malt, light spice, bitter citric peel, earthy hop. Taste comprises light pine, orange pith, grapefruit, touch of mango, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with hop bitterness. Drinkable stuff but lower end of the style spectrum for me.

GBBF Day 1. Bottle share. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and smooth with mild fine carbonation. Sweetish creamy malts, little caramel. Sweetish marmalade and dried fruit hops. Pine. Nice touch of lime marmalade as well! Floral tones. Modest tropical fruits and even a touch of apricot. Light finish. Nice.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting cream head. Hop resiny aroma. Some toffee biscuit sweetness in the mouth. Very smooth in the mouth. Quite hoppy but not over the top. No real burn on the finish. The ABV is hidden well. If I made a DIPA this is how I would want it to turn out, balanced and hoppy but not super hoppy, good biscuit and sweetness in the mouth and good bitterness on the finish. Good

Bottled 355ml. -Finally! The most expected beers have arrived! Well, the story goes like this - my friend "Dragan the Drot" went to live to USA, Salt Lake City, so I’ve asked him to bring me some Wasatch beers when he would come to visit Croatia. So, he came here some four years ago, but have brought no beers. Then, a week later, his girlfriend came too, and he said she was bringing the beers. But, again no beers - they said she was thirsty and drank them while waiting for plane to catch....hmm?! Some time after that, he has sent a package - I though this is it, but no, he has sent a bottle of tequilla! (very good tequila but never mind). And now, after six years of waiting, my friend has come to visit again and this time he has brought a bunch of Wasatchs beers plus one Squatters! Heeeellll Yeaaahhhh!!!
Now something about beer itself...Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, slightly sweet fruity hoppy nose. Toasted malt, caramel, and fruity hoppy with pretty strong alcohol presence. The finish is dry, moderate bitter and alcoholic. Alcohol should be more balanced but anyway decent brew.

bottle - Pourd. s up a big, dense off-white head. It has a very good citrus and pine hop aroma. There’s a big hoppy flavor with citrus notes, a solid malt backbone, and a long bitter finish. To me it’s a bit less bitter tasting than many beers of this style. It’s very good though.
