Cask-conditioned at the White Lion, Bristol 1/03/10. Jet black with a light, off-white head. As other shave said, this was hard to categorise: there was a slightly creamy edge to everything, balanced by a touch of roastiness, with chocolate, coffee and a trace of sourness lurking in the background. Unusual.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Black, lasting thin beige head. Some roasted malt and liquorice on flavour. It’s an ok roasted dark ale, not really a stout nor a porter. Dryish finish. Fine. Good condition.

Gravity cask@GBBF 2009. Dark nut brown color, small steady beige head. Cold coffee and some licorice in the nose. Light palate. Cold coffee, color malts, toasted notes. Easy to drink stout. Not bad. (7/4/7/3/13 3.4)
Bottled (K-Isolinna, BB 03/2012)
Dark ruby-brown color, small creamy beige head. Nose has the aroma of hard licorice candies, light milky note too. Light palate. Licorice, some menthol, toasted maltyness. Bitterness in the finish. Quite good beer in the "British bottled light stouts" genre. (7/4/7/3/13 3.4)

Cask@GBBF2009. Quite much pitch black colour with small beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some mild liquorice as well as mild spicyness. Flavour is bready, nutty, coffeeish, liquorice and also has a bunch of wood and toffee in it. Very pleasant.

Cask conditioned at FFTMC, Oxford 24-05-08 Pours black with off white creamy head. Aroma was the one thing that I think was lacking in this beer maybe some roasted notes but very subtle. Good woody roastedness with some residual sweetness in there, quite simple but quite nice.
