Švyturio Baltas is a long-standing member of the traditional collection. This type of beer has a wide range of flavours and scents: aroma of banana, subtle notes of cloves and citrus fruits. The aroma of fruits goes perfect with a dry and quite sour taste of beer. The unfiltered and cloudy beer is recommended to be served in a chilled glass with a slice of lemon.

bottle, Tesco Honiton. Cloudy pale yellow, big white head. Aroma of banana. Full-bodied, yeasty and wheaty with lovely intensive flavours of banana and a touch of peach. Very pleasant carbonation supporting the banana-yeasty-wheaty flavours. A really really good Hefeweizen of the German style.

(Draught on 2008-06-20) Orange. Cloudy. Big white head. Banana and some hops in nose. Lot of carbonation in medium palate. Banana, hops and tiny amount of malts in taste. Tiny hint of smokiness. Some metallic flavour, too.

Bottle from Tesco. Murky gold in colour with a slight, off-white head. This had all the standard hefeweizen aromas and flavours of bananas, cloves, bubble gum and yeast etc, but for me they lacked sharpness and were jumbled together in a doughy mix. Ok.

Bottle at home ... Tesco Drinks winner ... Yellow with a light haze ... decdent banana wheat nose ... quite sweet but otherwise very typical wheat tones ... lots of fruityness... this deserves better than it 2.96 average... quite tasty.

50cl bottle from Tesco. Cloudy straw with a thick white head; sweet aroma with a touch of banana and spice; spritzy in the mouth with lots of fresh banana flavour with a twist of lime; rather bready and chewy finish, dry but lacking the expected spice.

Bottle from Ledgers. Ok, there’s banana in the aroma, and there’s wheat with it; even clove, I think. Hazy apricot/gold color with a sturdy white head. Near medium in body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is banana, wheat, clove and something else. Seems almost a bit acidic. Finish is fairly dry. Pretty good hefe. Maybe it will help lower the suicide rate. Certainly this ale is nothing to be depressed about.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow and with a huge chalk white head. Aroma is wheaty, with a minor metallic note and a classic wheat-bubblegum note too. Flavour is rather smooth and starts out much like a Belgian wit with a mellow and nice set of spices. After this a classic German hefeweizen flavour takes over, which sadly also introduces bubblegum flavours. Sweet and citric towards a bitter and wheaty finish. Nice

Bottle. Apple cider, banana, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy tan yellow color with a big head. Sweet banana and sour wheat malt flavor. Full bodied. A very solid Hefe - stands up to its German brothers.
