Švyturio Baltas is a long-standing member of the traditional collection. This type of beer has a wide range of flavours and scents: aroma of banana, subtle notes of cloves and citrus fruits. The aroma of fruits goes perfect with a dry and quite sour taste of beer. The unfiltered and cloudy beer is recommended to be served in a chilled glass with a slice of lemon.

Bottle. Apple cider, banana, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy tan yellow color with a big head. Sweet banana and sour wheat malt flavor. Full bodied. A very solid Hefe - stands up to its German brothers.

Medium white head. Hazy opaque orange body. Light spicy rubbery milky banana aroma with citric notes. Taste is milky banana with rubbery notes, slightly watery. Full mouthfeel. Dry, sharpish spicy aftertaste. Quite nice, but a bit boring, perhaps. (0.5l on draft.)

Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. (as Baltas Kvictinis Alus) Yellow-orange, hazy weizen with a nice white head. Wheat, malt, banana and cloves in the aroma. The flavor is wheat, banana and cloves. Medium body and nice Co2-level. Nice baltic hefeweizen. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. 060826

On tap at the Wharf. A creamy, two-finger thick white head sits on top of an unclear, yellowish orange body. Some lacings. The aroma has cloves and bubble gum up at first, soon followed by banana and some lemon. Wheat too. the flavor has a nice lemony acidity to deal with the banana and bubble gum. Some cloves, and towards the end there’s a nice bitterness. Medium to full body, effervescent and quite dry. A very refreshing beer, tasteful too. 111106

Half-liter bottle from Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove. Yes, another loose bottle for a buck, another odd east European brand. It does have a nice German wheat beer smell too, but it pours a less than appealing murky brown in a yellow body. Nice crisp weizen head, though. Taste takes a little time to get established. I finally get a mostly citrusy beer (I didn’t put a slice of anything on it), Then some slight hefe style banana note. I guess I’m ranking this pretty average. It’s pretty nice and drinkable, just not a very appealing presentation.
