Deep, dark brown, near black, with a frothy off-white head and hints of coffee in the roasted malt aroma. Ligther bodied than anticipated, solid roasted malt to the fore, with coffee and liquorice coming through, a hint of smoke perhaps, and a touch of dry bitterness

Half-pint, keg at Piccadilly Tap, shared with Finn. Stable off-white head over a black body with a rustic shade. Lacing rings down the glass. Roasted dark malts, mid-sweet, promising. Choco-coffee notes to the taste buds, ashy. Roasted malty end. Easy to drink. Likable. (Manchester 22.01.2020).
