Crisp and aromatic, this boldly-hopped American ale balances notes of citrus and tea-like earthiness from American hops with a subtle German malt base.

12 oz. can from Prost Beer and Wine. Mostly clear gold with steady level of carbonation. Aroma has a mild bready pale malt, weak citrus.
The flavor is that of a classic APA. But really feels dated, like this would rock if it was 2004. Just very ordinary by today’s standards. Bready malt base with light notes of citrus and mellow pine that leads into a dry texture. Body is on the lighter side of medium. Drinkable enough and it has no issues.... I maybe overly critical with this but just very plain to me.

Can from The Drinkery Derry Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a good sized long lasting frothy off white head. Lemony citrus, light sulfur, light bready maltiness. Old school, a bit bland for my hop toasted taste buds.

Bottle in pint glass from Downtown Discount Beverage. Aroma is strong bready malt with floral, herbal, musky-resinous hops. Appearance is clear gold with orange tinge, nice sparkle with virtually no head and mild lacing. Taste is nice mix of bitter and sweet, slightly citrusy, metallic, with corn chip finish which is long. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and slightly overcarbonated. Overall, a lot of positives here and very enjoyable to drink.

12 oz. bottle into a tulip. Best by 10/29/15. A: Dark gold almost brown pour. Looks like a watered down porter ( in a good way) Small coarse beige head. Streaming bubbles quickly die down. Low retention and average lacing. S: Pungent earthy hop smell dominates. Smells English. T: Stiff piney/woody bitterness at the start, balancing toward the finish with a faint malt sweetness. Lots of character. Tastes a bit more American. M: Medium body with maybe a bit below average carbonation. Light resin on the medium short finish. O: Good pale ale that seems to straddle the fence between English and American styles. Widely available in NC and priced at $9/6 means this is well worth an occasional buy.

(Bottle, 0.355 l, at Gallows Bird, 20150829) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and citricness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A tasty but very usual pale ale.

Bottle at Beer Ditch, Malmo, Day 2 of RBESG ’15 21/08/15. Catch up bier having drank this at the source and in Philly. Golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is light fart, bitter orange, straw, melon, bread dough. Taste comprises melon, tangerine, a touch soapy, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, a touch soapy though, likely not so fresh.
