Pours hazy pale gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Sweet yeast and clove aromas. Soft with lemon and bready caramel upfront turning slightly sour in the earthy bitter finish.

Bottle. Banana, bubblegum, wheat malt, and clove aroma. Slightly hazed yellow with a large white head. Lemon/banana, clove, yeast, and wheat malt flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Lemon, coriander, clove, wheat malt aroma. Golden yellow with large fluffy white head. Slightly sweet lemon malt, coriander, and clove flavor. Lightly bitter orange peel finish. Excellent wheat hybrid.

A hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, smooth sweet fruity malt with orange pulp, grassy notes, light floral hops. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light curacao, coriander, alcohol warmth, nice. Sampler at Battle of the Belgians at Jimmys 43.

Whole Foods, Bowery ($2): Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is banana, citrus, clove, yeast, spice. Taste is somewhat sweet, with a fair amount of hoppiness. Mellow body. Really easy to drink. I wouldn’t really call it a winter ale in the traditional sense, but I’ve seen stranger things.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, yellow/gold with a huge white head. Smoked wheat, yeast, lemon aroma. Taste is citrusy....sweet lemon, banana, wheat. Nice little smoky touch. Pretty good stuff.
