Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Pleasant wheaty aroma with banana, a bit of clove and a bit of citrus. Sweetish fruity wheaty flavor with mild spiciness and a slightly bitter finish. Easy-drinking. A good wheat beer, quite German in character.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/16/2014. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy bright golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, wheat, bread, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, malt, and hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, pear, apple, banana, wheat, clove, pepper, bubblegum, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a god bit. Very nice complexity and balance of malt, hop, and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; very a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good hefeweizen. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, hop, and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Aroma: The nose is wheaty and spicy, clove, citrus, floral notes, some yeast, and banana
Appearance: It pours a gold-orange color with a quite large white head and frothy lacework
Flavor: Tastes strong and spicy, lots of clove and wheat, with citrus and floral balancing flavors
Palate: The body is medium it has a lively carbonation, and a long, tingly, dry, and spicy finish
Overall Impression: This is one of the most flavorful and well-made wheat beers that I have tried in. recent memory. The spice is probably the standout here, but the other flavor all bring something nice to the table. Well-made and enjoyable stuff.

12oz bottle. Slightly hazy, yellow body. Filled with fast rising carbonation bubbles which lead to a thick, steady, creamy, white head. Kind of an oddball beer, White IPA but done with a German hefe-yeast that really adds some solid clove, not so much banana. Rindy hop tones. Fruity, dry white wine tones, with a touch of the Brett feel reminiscent of Helios. Also heads into the Double Wit style, which seems to be a style that really doesn’t hide the ABV, comes off a touch boozy.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with a big frothy white head. Aroma of bananas and cloves. Flavors of tropical fruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slight bitter finish.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy yellow color with a large frothy off-white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bready malts, citrus, stone fruits and a bit of honey. The taste is wheat, spice, citrus, stone fruits, toasted malts, caramel. Medium bodied, low carbonation, lingering spice. Nice beer.

This beer pours a slightly hazy straw color with a thick and fluffy white head that burns away slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, wheat and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of bananas, citrusy wheat and yeast. The finish is fruity with a clean wheaty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Apricot and citrus with a little spicy clove. Interesting choice for a winter beer, personally I would rather drink this in the summer.

Tap at the brewery, 27/11/13. Clear pale golden with a moderate white head. Nose is floral hops, citrus, yeast esters, bread dough, light spice, orange peel. Taste comprises sweet notes, citric fruit, orange peel, clove, spice, wheaten bread, sugars, mandarin, toasted malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finale. Decent stuff, I’d have this as a weizen bock at the ABV not a wheat ale - it carries too much depth for your typical offering from that particular mediocre style.
