Long Strange Tripel

Bottle. Pours golden, with a big creamy head. Aroma is nice fruity Belgian yeast, with oak, kandi and brown sugar. creamy body, with soft to medium carbonation. Flavour is Belgian yeast and kandi, as well as oak and some smoky notes. Sweet, fruity wood in the finish.

Bottle. A- Bready, biscuits, citrus, slight funk, spices. A- Golden orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, yeasty, bready, spice, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, medium high carbonation, smooth finish. O- Complex and full of nice flavors. Another example of why the Smokestack series is one of the best series out there.

Bottle at home. One year old. Has a slightly hazy light amber colour with a big, creamy, off-white head. Looks pretty carbonated. Citrus in the aroma along with alkohol, Belgian yeast, hay, mowned grass and some apple cider vinegar and clorine. The flavour mirrors the aroma but is sweeter with more Belgian yeast and alkohol, and in addition almonds and sweet corn. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A balanced and sweet tripel, maybe a bit too much boozy touch on it.

Good and very drinkable tripel. Pours hazy yellow with Good head and lacing. Light coriander and floral yeast. Well balanced with soft carbonation. Light sweet finish. Bottle.

bottle, notes that I think are several years old - Pours orange with a big off-white head and flakes of yeast. It’s spicy, yeast, and hoppy. Vry bubbly on the palate, this dry finishing beer has more malt complexity that appears as it warms, a medium body, and some good hops bitterness. On the downside I picked up a bit of band aid taste.

Big offwhite head. Clear yellow body with little floating particles. Mealy tropical fruit aroma with funky honey notes. Dry-sweet papery mealy fruity taste with herbal honey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel with slight heat. Dry papery fruity mealy afteraste with wooden metallic honey notes. Spicy flavour lingers. Nice, drinkable, not even remotely worth the alcohol. (0.75l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

A corked 0.75l bottle. It quickly forms a huge really delicate looking almost fluffy white head on top of a mildly cloudy golden body that's filled with unfiltered small particles floating about in the glass. It's also lacing down the glass quite nicely. On the nose it's not to extreme but it's a triple alright. Belgian yeast with white candied sugars, green apple skin, a almost fruit pommelo zesty citrus sting and something that reminds me of sand. A good amount of flavor. In the mouth it feels gliding and oily while the bubbles ate just above average. Belgian flavors with sharp yeast, dried white sweet fruits, green apples and even some white sugary sweetness. Not much to say on the alcohol taste here until the warming almost peppery aftertaste really kicks in - that suits this just fine. Perhaps not the most refined or elegant triple I've had, but it's a nice one to sip at on a Wednesday evening while watching football. 12.02.2014

Flaske fra polet, hjemme: klar gylden og med eminent skum som varer og varer. Innbydende aroma og smak av krydder (koriander, pepper mm) og gjær med stor friskhet og en bitter avslutning som fint matcher omdreiningshastigheten. Ikke på langt nær så søt som mange belgiske i denne stilen. Minner faktisk om Duvel. Til nå har Boulevard aldri skuffet og gjør det ikke nå heller. Langt inne i komfortsonen!

Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, light malts, yeast, citrus, leafs, hay, broth, alcohol, grass. Taste is slightly harsh fruity, light malts, yeast, citrus peel, wet hay, grass. Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.
