A rich, full bodied best bitter in the traditional Kent style. Finest pale ale malt and crystal malt for colour and richness. Hopped with local Kent Northdown and Finchcocks’ Whitbread Golding Variety and finished in the Hop Rocket with Progress hops from Scotney Castle for a full flavour and aroma.

Bottle from The Crafty Barbers. Pours a hazy amber/orange colour with a huge foamy off-white head. Aromas of light citrus fruit, caramel, toffee and floral. Taste has more citrus fruit, floral and light notes of caramel. Fairly light bodied, very slightly oily mouthfeel and a hoppy citrus bitter finish. Ok but nothing special.

Half-pint, cask at Surrey Docks (JDW). Patchy, pearl white head, near-clear amber coloured body, clingy lacing. Moderate aroma of herbal hops and subdued malty sweetness. Well mixed taste of toffee, bread and herbal hops. Bittersweet ending. True to the style.( Rotherhithe, London 29.09.2018).
