Gruut White beer is very aromatic with a fragant fruity smell and a slightly herbaceous sharpness. The body is light, but soft. Thanks to the spices, the flavors are ‘round’, very fine and complex. The first impression is a spicy dryness, but there is also a slight, creamy sweetness underlying.

Bottle. Pale blonde, hazy. Lemon aroma with spices (coreander and mint) Thin. Lemony, spicy flavor. Thirst quenching beer that lacks a bit of balance.

Bottle at Beermalade wit tasting. Moderate body, high carbonation. Really typical wit, yeasty phenolics are center, slightly flowery. Very easy drinking and refreshing. Very good.

Bottle from a Delhaize in Ghent. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thinning, foamy, white head. Fresh aroma of lemon, orange, coriander, wheat, yeast, some honey. It tastes light grassy & spicy bitter and light to medium wheaty sour, some fruity sweetness in the back. Dry, wheaty, bit spicy finish. Medium body (at best), slick texture, fizzy carbonation. I'm pleasantly surprised as it's not another typically Belgian, overly spiced Wit.

Bottle from Bier Paleis, Brugge. Very hazed golden-amber with a thin head. Has a nice wheat nose with banana at its most prominent here, but there's a good blast in its taste too albeit a little thin in its texture.
