First brewed in 2008. We brew Wandle Ale using traditional methods and materials sourced locally from English producers. We use Maris Otter malt from Warminster Maltings, one of the few remaining floor maltings in the country. We use a combination of traditional Fuggles and Goldings hops varieties, together with the more modern Boadicea hedgerow variety to flavour our beers. All of the hops used in the brewing process are whole leaf which give Wandle its distinctive hoppy taste and aroma.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festval 2014

Pours clear orange with no head. Aroma of bready malts and hints of crisp sweet fruity and grassy notes. Taste is malty, slightly weird with hints of sweet fruits and alcohol. Finish is sweet, messy and slightly fruity with some off flavors. Not good.

Aroma has butter and toffee with some English hops. Flavour has English hops, butter, some toffee and diacetyl. Too English and too much butter here.

500ml bottle. Clear, deep golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, notes of red and yellow apples. Taste is minimally grainy, fruity notes of red and yellow apples. Simple but nice.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mild malt with hint of fruit. Flavor is also mild, sweet, quite smooth malt, kind of fruity and moderate bitterness. Medium body and medium aftertaste, a bit more bitterness maybe. Quite plain and straight forward bitter.

Bottle. A clear golden beer with a small off-white head. Quite boring aroma and flavor, not much going on, neither hops nor malts. Fruityness and some biscuits. Medium body, quite dry. Pretty bitter towards the end. I’m still surprised too see all these boring beers churned out from the English breweries. 131019

0.5l bottle. This is a crystal clear golden one with a small light islandy just off-white top. The nose has citrus, it's on the light floral side. The mouthfeel is soft and oily while the carbonation is average. In the taste: More citrus, some zest, it feels fresh, clean and actually somewhat good. Easy and lightdrinkable. 27.04.2013
