He lurks in the shadows, waiting in bold anticipation. He's surprisingly bitter. Bitter about something. Legend has it that he feasts on those with fresh hops coursing through their veins. This dry-hopped, Texas IPA has a flavor as defiant as the Hopadillo himself. It's packed with the bracing bitterness of hops from around the world that this creature craves. He's comin' to get ya. You've been warned...

Draft pour imperial pint at Ruby's, Houston IAH. So good to try an IPA like this after 10 days of going without in the land of lagers. Copper orange pour, very clean, tons of foam head. Precise grapefruit bitter flavor here, cool and lingering. Fresh citrus hops on the nose. Very nice aroma. Overall this IPA has a classic feel upon fist sip. Delicious. Reminds me of a couple IPAs I enjoyed when I first discovered the style long ago, and this style still stands strong. 20 oz of this when I got about 10 minutes between flights.. no problem.

A dark orange amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, good biscuit malt with loads of resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and pleasant. In mouth, good biscuit malt with herbaceous character, resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, lingering bitterness, pleasant. On tap at United lounge, Terminal C iah.

Thanks Bryan! Can, pours a big rocky head on a darker than pale clear beer. Medium clean hop perfume aroma. Taste is imperial IPA, over the top and terribly on style. Pucker, bitter back of throat. Does have some co2 but that doesn’t hide the in yer face attitude of this brew. Towards the middle of the session it begins to get volatile, I think I’m getting a little dizzy. Lots of hops with what feels to be more than 7% abv. Viscous mouth coating soapy finish, chewing & sucking on green grapefruit rind soaked in clear pine tar. . Whew. What torture.

Purchased as a pint at the close-by tavern. It came a medium amber in color and a great white head. It smelled grassy and piney with a taste bearing resiny pine and lemon. Gives a moderate bitterness. Hoppy throughout. Very decent. Karbach delivers again.

Some pine but doesn’t come together like a Fugees reunion. Amber pour with decent head. Bittet finish with some booze and astringency. Tap at Airport.

Can in Houston. It pours clear amber with a decent beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, pine, resin, toffee, caramel, sweet lemon and green grassy vibe. The taste is bitter - sweet, piney, resin, caramel, grassy, mild astringency, wood, earth, lemon parfait, pithy with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. A bit malty and old-school. Ok for what it is, but there are plenty better out there. 3.2. Update: can from the guys at Karbach (thanks). The beer is crisper, brighter, cleaner and has some orange citrus peel. How it should taste. 3.5

100th IPA rating. Pours a somewhat dark brown from a can, good lacing. Big hop aroma, grapefruit and grade B honey. A little spicy. Good beer.
