He lurks in the shadows, waiting in bold anticipation. He's surprisingly bitter. Bitter about something. Legend has it that he feasts on those with fresh hops coursing through their veins. This dry-hopped, Texas IPA has a flavor as defiant as the Hopadillo himself. It's packed with the bracing bitterness of hops from around the world that this creature craves. He's comin' to get ya. You've been warned...

Cn. Nose is a bit stale, with minerals, lemon, bread, crackers. Amber0orange with a fine head. Dry, lemony, minerally flavor with honey. Not old, but seems like it. Ok.

On tap at the Ginger Man. Pours out smooth and creamy, silky head. Gentle hoppy aroma, taste brings out some caramelly malts, hops rest softly on the backplane. Mild for an IPA, but very well crafted.

On tap at Corner, Austin. Medium reddish amber with a good sized off white head that laces nicely. Strong pine and citrus nose with light toffee and hints of raspberry. Light caramel supports big bitter pine and some tartness. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a long dry finish.

12 oz. can as pictured. Copper color, lasting head from a steady carbonation level. Even when warm the aroma is mild. Floral hints, weak pale malt. Flavor is sweet with a light hops bite. Balance is decent. Floral and pine with a mellow, lasting bitterness after the sip. Simple but pretty well made. Easy to find these cans all over Texas.

Bronze. Thin head. Not the brightest hop, which I noted in my initial review in 2014. Moderate caramel and a hint of grapefruit. Good bitterness.

Draft - Skunky piney hops. Cloudy copper with a rich beige head. Tastes just like it smells, with a very well balanced bitterness and sweetness. A great IPA.
