Charles Wells’ Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale is a rich, full favoured beer that is a deep copper colour. It has all the warmth, aromas and appeal of the rich pudding.
Brewed with Pale Ale malt and a secret blend of complex sugars and molasses. The initial sweetness is balanced with gentle bitterness from Fuggles and Goldings hops. The sweet caramel and toffee flavour is smooth with a robust aftertaste.
Rebranded as Eagle Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale in 2017. Discontinued in 2022.

50cl bottle from Tesco’s, Camberley. A dark chestnut clour with a thick cream head; the aroma is sweet with molasses and dates; the taste is somewhat drier, with a heavy caramel malt body, and some raisins and dates; followed by a dry doughy finish.

Bottle: Pours deep, ruby brown with a small, oatmeal coloured head. Toffee, light chocolate aroma. Toffee, cocoa powder, cream aroma. Slight dark chocolate roast bitter. A little light in body.....wish it was a bit heavier.

From a 500ml bottle 0n 27/4/2014. Pours a clear dark amber with quite a big light brown head. Has a strong and quite pleasant aroma of toffee and vanilla. The flavour is primarily, toffee caramel and vanilla, with the vanilla being even more pronounced in the mouth. It’s sweet but is quite well balanced by a sharp, tangy bitterness. The body is a touch thin and the carbonation lively. A little bit uneven but pretty good none the less.

11.2 oz bottle. Aroma is very dessert-like with toffee strong, as described; also, vanilla. Pours clear dark amber to brown with a dissipating beige head; leaves a ring of big-bubbly foam. Taste is the right amount of sweet (not cloying like I half expected), finishing dry and bitter. Thin-bodied and highly carbonated. Not bad. I was kind of hoping for a little more from this but expecting it to be worse, so breaking even is alright.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear ruby brown color with medium creamy light brown head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, toffee-like, biscuity with hints of liquorice. Taste starts with light sweet biscuit malt, follows by annoying toffe following, lightly roasted malt and moderate bitter finish. Medium body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. I would rather eat pudding than drink this one again. Not bad, bud just not my type of flavoured beer...

Strong vanilla nose, toffee underneath. Fizzy brown, medium yellow head. Fizzy and dry. Almost exclusively vanilla flavor, woody notes, not really toffee-like. Malty then grassy finish. Surprisingly hoppy with the bittering hops. Didn’t deliver on the sticky toffee, which I was amped for.

11.2oz bottle. Deep filtered brown-amber body. Respectable creamy beige head. Big caramel, toffee aroma. Sugary and sweet, a pretty enjoyable dessert beer. Very sugary, but captures the essence of what they intended quite well. Medium bodied, I wouldn’t want to drink two of these in a row, but it what a fun beer to try. Caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream. OK.

from a bottle nice and dark. smells like metallic toffee candy fer sure. taste is toffee like with some bitterness. not sure how this overall, not really sticky, but a tad cloying. could not drink much of these. some slight creamy carbonation. again, not sure what to think of this, its a little messy in attitude. hides alky but somehow a little too strong for my taste. how can this be a bitter? yes, quite odd overall. not impressed. never tasted a bitter like this, probably should be styles a spice veggie beer.
