500 ml bottle. Unclear golden, big fluffy head. Grain, bread, hay, lemon, yeast, nuts. Mild dry bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry finish. Good Helles.

Hazy golden, small white head. Malty, light sugary. Sweetish, grainy. Drinkable, medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish. Some hops here, but mostly malts. Below average.

EIgentlich ein recht normales Bier, aber es ist recht solide und hat hintergründige Getreidenoten, die schon richtig brotig wirken. Interessant, aber auch nicht so speziell. Auf jeden Fall ein gutes Feierabendbier.

Bottle from ErlangerNick and drunk at home listening to Tony Hancock. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Lots of lemon and hop on the aroma. Some bread. It’s delicious. First beer of the day. I love the lemon flavour. It really is a very lovely helles. The hoppy finish, the fresh lemon flavour. Lovely.

22nd Jan 2016: in Green Week, Bavarian Hall. On-tap as Riedenburger Ur-Helles. Golden pour, thin white head: bog standard Pilsner/Lager/Helles look in fact. Very little aroma or taste, refreshing enough but lacks depth and character in my opinion. Poor start to what ended as a fantastic day of eating and drinking.

Bottle, 4.7% as Riedenburger Ur-Helles. Spicy hop aroma. Hazy very pale yellow colour. Small stable white head. The flavour has a distinctly floral aroma hop with a heavy dose of paper thrown in. Low bitterness. After a while one gets used to the paper and it turns in to a more than decent Zwickel thing. Has some fruit, apple going on when chugged. Slightly citric, a bit like apple juice.

Bottle, Riedenburger Ur-Helles. Clear, pale straw. Tiny white head. Bready, light earty aroma. Malty, bready flavour. Light feel, dry and lightly bittersweet finish.
