Strong and well hopped for the voyage sending IPA from the Wolds to the World. Interestingly brewed with a pale Wold grown malt base, a triple hop blend and Maize for the head retention.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt range. Golden amber with a scummy looking white head; weak citrus aroma; strong grainy flavour with a hint of tropical fruits and grapefruit; the finish is dry and woody, and the alcohol is very apparent. A long way off the modern Amercian IPA concept.

Wold Top Scarborough Fair IPA Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Nairn GBBH
Golden amber, clear, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma - soft pale malts, very faint citrus, dull, little aroma
Taste - Sweet caramel malts, some bitter citrus hop, hint of fruity orange citrus but the malts cover them up
Palate - soft carb, medium body, oily. Finish - bit dry, pale caramel malts, fairly bitter, rapid finish, bit of a hoppy linger
Overall - Easy drinking but it’s dull for the 6% abv, a bit boring tbh

500ml bottle from Sainsburys Ashford. Clear gold with lasting white head. Citrus hoppy aroma. Bit thin in mouth. Some good hops on the finish. Bit harsh on the finish. To be honest I now need to go to bed. Will re-rate this. A bit thin in terms of body. Good bitterness on finish. ok hoppiness.
