A rich dark ale, with an underlying maltiness, and a subtle fruit aroma, ideal for keeping the chill of Winter at bay. The roasted barley and pale chocolate malt give a deep red hue, the hop combination of Progress, Styrian Goldings and Cascade create bitterness with a soft spicy yet fruity edge.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, with very fine and stable foam, cappuccino. Aroma is coffee and chocolate, the latter more than the former. Body is slightly thin, but creamy, with moderate but tickling carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, rather toasty. Final is average.

Pours almost black, with reddish hints if seen through light. A couple of fingers of a relatively dense off-white head. Good retention and a bit of lacing. Not very intense, but nicely polished aroma. Light roasted malts with the slightest hint of coffee, but a soft kind of roastiness, with a bit of nuttiness to it. Light chocolate and light fruity (kinda berrish) notes. Taste is soft dark malts, half nutty, half softly roasted, perhaps with a hint of caramel. Light berrish fruitiness as suggested by the aroma, and also a delicate spiciness. The overall feel is sweet, but never over the top, and slightly warming. Medium bodied with pretty low, very soft carbonation, resulting in a nicely soft, half creamy, half silky mouthfeel. Overall a quite classic english winter warmer, maybe with a bit of mild ale feel to it. Enjoyable drinkability, but with a touch of warming character. Nice.
