Bottle from the Balloon Tree Farm Shop, Gate Helmsley. Golden with a head. Has good depth for its low strength, with an excellent pale ale texture and taste, with a dryness and an underlying light tropical fruitiness.

Handpump @Le Bon Bock (Rome). Dorata viva, limpida, schiuma bianca media. Al naso sentori di mela grattugiata, erba tagliata, uva, biscotto. In bocca è delicatamente equilibrata, attacco biscottato dolce con finale fresco fruttato appena amaro. Corpo esile, carbonazione soft. È sempre un piacere bere queste birre!

Clear golden beer, not much smell to it. Taste is citrusy hop but it’s a touch sour and a touch sickly. Unfortunately it’s the sourness that lingers in the mouth. Not great.

50cl bottle from Longacres, Bagshot. Amber with a loose white head; faint citrus aroma; biscuity malt body; and a light but persistant bitterness. A good example of a traditional pale ale.
