When three duck-billed platypi hit the big time, there’s no chance these rough and tumble pals will just sit around and count stacks. These are the times to live lavishly and get acquainted with newfound class companions, regardless of dress codes or worn out welcomes. There really is nothing like raising a glass and rubbing elbows with the upper crust.

(What is the deal with Clown Shoes Beer and party crashers, anyway? We’re still working through that one, but at least this soirée lacks zombies, werewolves, and litigious vendettas. Less knee pads and wooden stakes, more emphasis on keeping that flamboyant fur coat pulled tight around your mid-section.)

Cashed Up Bogan is our Australian Sparkling ode to the hard-working Aussies who strike it big. Hopped to the nines with Ella and Summer (two hop varieties that got their start Down Under), lush floral aromas and flavors of melon and apricot supplement this Double IPA’s resplendent base of sweet malt flavors.

Can, 0.457l. Aroma of melon, stone fruit, honey, caramel and bread crust. Pours cloudy dark golden color with large soapy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet caramelly and resinous, follows by melon, apricots, flowers and quite medicinal, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is average bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. A bit less than expected, but still quite tasty...

Get on the beers day. Can. The artwork is up there with Warnie's mural (what can you expect given their logo) but the name is the best Strine name since Burleigh's FIGJAM IPA. Very hazy amber with an inch of white head. 3+ Aroma of honeydew melon, mandarin, some stonefruit, light bread. Lightly creamy texture. Sweet with tropical fruit and some herbal notes that didn't really seem to fit. Moderately bitter and pleasantly spicy at the end. Not enough presence for 8% ABV but OK.

473ml can. Canned May 2020. Poured golden in color, not that clear. Resiny hops, floral, white grapes, grapefruit, some marmalade. Bitter finish, warmth. OK despite being on the older side.

Schönes Döschen wie immer, leichte Trübe im Glas. In der Nase Mango. Im Trunk sehr alkoholisch. Verdrängt mir die Frucht zu sehr.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours coppery gold with a foamy/creamy near white head. Aroma of apricot and green melon. Med plus body. Not all that dry - fruit sweetness. Apricot and green melon. Citrus and pale malt also seem to fit. Moderately bitter. Nice flavor. Very good - tho pretty far from NW IPA.
