A liquid Bakewell tart that unfolds with flavour. Cherry jam and almond rise with hints of mocha. The sweet aroma gives way to tart flavour and a dry body. Roast cocoa layers over frangipane and a pastry like biscuit base. The sour finish leaves you desperate to fake it again.

Very sharp, cocoa, no real almond notes, intense black cherry. I like it, but don’t agree with the name/tasting notes

Keg at BD Soho, 07/02/20. Light to mid black with a decent tan cap. Nose is dusty cocoa bean, toasted almonds, berry pips, fucked over raspberry jam, damp cloth. Taste comprises chocolate chips, blackcurrant, bitter raspberry, wood must, base funk, dry rot, berry pips. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising acidic load. Another good dark sour from this triumvirate, perhaps the sweetest in places but also the most acidic.

I wouldn’t guess this beer is dark by the taste. It’s more traditional fruity sour yet pitch black. Somewhat pastry-like. Great sipper. Brewdog manchester

Tried at Brewdog Dalston. Black colour with a slim tan head. Aroma hints at cherry and almond. Big fruity sour taste. Full body.

Keg at Brewdog Canary wharf. An opaque dark black brown coloured pour with a a halo of tan head. Aroma is sweet rounded marshmallow, milky choc, raspberry wagon wheel, jammy fruits, grape jelly. Flavour is composed of super sour, citric acid, lemon rind, background marshmallow, tangy, some lactose sweetness.. This beer is insane. Palate is super sour, teeth aching sour, plenty of sugar, highish fine carbonation. Very unique.
