Easy to drink and not too heavy on the palate considering its strength.
It’s true, Wrexham Lager is back. Since the sad day that it closed in 2000 we know that a lot of people have missed the original great taste of Wrexham Lager and now after 10 years absence that great taste is back.
Brewed in a brand new micro brewery in Wrexham using the original recipe and the same ingredients combined with modern machinery to deliver Wrexham Lager as it was best loved and brewed over 100 years ago.

Keg at Tapps Rhos. Aroma os malty, slightly bitter. Clear copper gold. Thin foamy white head. Malty with a sour metallic and citrus edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Not great. Insipid.

YG 270624. Golden color with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, citrus. Flavor is fruit, malt, citrus.grass, pine, bread. Boring beer.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 21/07/24. Almost clear golden blonde with a good sized lasting white cap. Nose is grassy, herb, grains, light yeast notes, hedgerow. Taste comprises lemon rind, pale malts, herb, grass, straw, light sweetness. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not entirely unpleasant but an odd lager ... came over more like some kind of weak Wit bier/Belgo hybrid with a bit of a skunky edge.

Bottle. An almost clear one, pale golden in color, and with a small white head. The aroma is quite fruity-sweetish, with citrus, grass and some pine cones. Bready malts. It's medium bodied and semi-sweet on the palate, with a gentle carbonation and bitterness. Grassy, citrusy and piney aroma with some sweet maltyness. Sort of cloying finish. If this is how it tasted back in the 20th century, I can't see the reason why it was brought back to life. 240627

23/6/2024. Bottle bought at Stans Superstore, St.Martin’s. Pours clear bright golden amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, boozy, bready, grassy, caramel, cardboard. Quite sweet, moderate bitterness, slightly metallic. Moderate body, foamy carbonation. Warming finish. Malt liquor like. Fair.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Crystal clear late straw coloured body, slowly diminishing white head, clingy lacing. Quite inviting, clean pale malty nose. Fine blended taste of pale malts and oily hops. Mid-dry ending, pale malty. Clean on the swallow. Easy to drink. Well made lager version. (Tromsø, 28.05.2024).

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Nose is all, clean malts. Rich, malty body, yet not overly sweet. Faint hop note with little bitterness. Excellent quaffable Lager. 270324
