The Baker is based on a recipe for a milder beer (3,5 %), which was brewed in the program Strömsö in an episode about homebrewing, where our recipemaker Willför was participating. At the brewery we liked the beer so much we decided to pump it up a bit for the abv. At the same time brewer Björkman did add some sea buckthorn to parts of the test batch. We liked it, and so the sea buckthorn was a keeper. In the flavour and aroma the rye and sea buckthorn work well together, also having some bready and mild toasted tones from the malts.

Bottle from Kvarken Brewery shop. Mild smell of sourdough. Muddy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of rye bread, some burnt sugar. Sea buckthorn faintly in the background. Very mild flavours, could be more robust. Bitter, lightly sour. Flat carbon.
