Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2013, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Great Heck Yakima IPA ].Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, candy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, candy, sugary sweet, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is flat. [20130814]

Cask at the Guildford arms. Pours clear amber, nose is cheesy toffee, light fruit, taste is sweet, dry, rich toffee, cheesy, sweet.

Bottle from real ale store Newark. Clear slightly hazy amber colour thin off white head. Some caramel on the aroma. Decent grapefruit hop in the mouth. Very drinkable and hides abv well. Some bitterness on the finish. Rather good I thought and a well balanced ipa.

500ml bottle from The Real Ale Store, Newark. Pours gold with little head. Nice hop aroma. Solid, dry malt body taste with a hint of nuts and a bitterness in the finish.

Slightly bubbly amber beer with a thin head and a sharp, fruity, hoppy aroma. Flavour is an initial, harsh hit of hop and sour grapefruit but it mellows out quite quickly. It does leave a lingering bitter hop taste on the tongue to finish. Very nice.

330ml Bottle - Amber in colour. Pine, toffee and peach in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with biscuity malt, pine, grapefruit and toffee combining well.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - amber with a nice fluffy head, some of which hangs around. Nose - mandarins and apricots. Toffee malt. Taste - nicely melded orange and toffee. Like a liqueur in fact. Palate - medium bodied, there’s a creamy yet sharp texture and a long dry but not astringent finish. Overall - lovely American style IPA.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. High volume but it’s not overly evident with plenty of fruits abundant in both aroma and taste.

Cask at The Old Black Bull. Beer of the night by some margin. Lots of juicy grapefruit and pine on the nose. Lots of bitterness in the taste, but with a solid caramel/toffee backdrop. Very enjoyable.

Light amber w bubbly head. Smells like a lot of American hops. Tastes like a lot if US hops, and chewy sticky crystal malt foolishness. Not much character - too sticky and the alcohol is quite assertive in the finish. 3 6 6 3 11
