Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester Pours almost black with a good beige head. Not surprisingly, the nose is all plums. Plums too in the mouth, along with liquorice and some malts. Overall pretty sweet. Finish is more bitter. Reasonable.

Cask shared with Finn at 37th Fleetwood Beer & Cider Festival. Covering tan head. Black in the glass. Dotted spots o the glass. Earthy malts and dried fruits on the nose. Dark fruity flavours alongside moments of dough and earth. Smooth, mid-dry malty ending. Decent. (07.02.2019).

Cask @ Elm Tree, Cambridge. Medium head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are plums, malt, fruits and hops. Sweet plum finish.

Cask @ Elm Tree, Cambridge. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and heavy plum. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 151018

On cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Pours clear deep ruby brown with a creamy off white head. Aroma: sweet, roasted malts, earthy, plums, toffee. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter, charred, cola, stewed plums, nutty, hint of smoke. Light to medium body, light carbonation. Bittersweet, fruity finish

Cask at Pembury. It pours deep ruby with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is sweet, oily, dried plum, fruit cake, toasty, earthy roast and a bit of jam. The taste is bitter, earthy, toasty grain, charred wood, roasted malt, tannin, tar, dried fruits, ashy with a drying and ashy finish. Light body and soft carbonation. A bit ashy, but not bad.

Pembury Tavern. Cask. Clear deep brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth earthy malts, light sweetness, trace of smoke. Ripe plum. Mild spicy bitterness. Light semi dry finish. Ashtray aftertaste. Tidy.
