We looked to the USA west coast for this IPA style. Big flavours rule, so we use all-American citrus hops for a powerful orangey taste. Look out for floral notes too in this highly drinkable beer.

Draft @ Temple Bar Pub, Dublin. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of malts and lemons. Tate of citrus fruits, biscuits and malts. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. Ok but location and price unfairly tarnished my experience.

On tap at Fitz's Pub, Doolin. Clear golden, small off-white head. Aroma is perfumy hoppy, tropical, floral, malty. Flavour is tropical fruit, candy, bready malts. Sweet, light body, light earthy bitterness, soft carbonation and texture, relatively drinkable.

On tap at Dom’s Pier 1. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has earthy citrus and wet grass with a good amount of bread backing. Flavor has earthy grains and light citrus with wet grass and a bit of bread in the finish.

Tap at Kenny’s Bar in Lahinch, County Clare. Orange gold color. Small white head. Citrus and pine nose. Flavor is more of the same. Sweet citrus upfront, mild pine on backend. Average at best.
