Foeder Aged Solera Sour w/ Elderberries. The closest thing we have to a flagship is Incipient - a golden sour wheat ale with a rotating fruit each month. This month’s version contains Elderberries. The color is inky purple/black, and the taste matches the intense color! This is your grandma’s homemade jam.

Dark reddish purple, some unstable light pinkish head. Smells sour, loads of elderberry, wood. Dense mouthfeel, but light as well, low carbed. Taste is loads of elderberry and almost as much wood. Nicely sour. Clearly all about the fruit, and well made.

Dark purple pour with no head. Notes of grape vinegar, oak barrel, subtle vanilla, sour cherries, elderberries. Quite alright, though a bit too much on the tart side, like most US sours.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a deep ruby to purple with a quickly dissipating pink head. Dark muscat, wildberry and what I can assume to be elderberry aromas. Very vinous on the palate with slight tannin fuzziness alongside notes of tart berry and slight earthy flavors. Lingering acidity, tannic fuzzies and berry flavors linger.

Can. Pours a deep red with a purple hue and a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has has sour deep berries with a light oak and a bit funk underlying. Flavor has nice tart dark berries with a light funk and a bit of oaky grain backing.
