750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/25/2017. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy dark ruby red/purple color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy pink head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy blackberries, black currants, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, raspberry, red/green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and bread; with lighter notes of pepper, leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, blackberries, currants, and moderate pale malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy blackberries, black currants, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, raspberry, red/green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and bread; with lighter notes of pepper, leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy blackberries, black currants, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, raspberry, red/green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, bread, pepper, light funk/vinegar, and yeast earthiness in the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, blackberries, currants, and moderate pale malt flavors; with and awesome malt/sour/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 7.6%. Overall this is an incredible fruited sour ale! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, blackberries, currants, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, with the modestly lactic/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Insanely jammy blackberry/currant flavors, balanced Brett/Lacto complexity, and solid malt backing to control acidity. Perfectly balanced and not overly sour/lactic. A highly enjoyable offering.
