BrewDog Pale ale is a classic west coast pale ale, paying tribute to the beers like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale which inspired us to start up our brewery, albeit at a slightly more sessionable ABV. BrewDog Pale Ale focusses on a very heavy hop dosing in the whirlpool which gives a slightly different hop impact than a heavily dry-hopped beer with the hop character slightly more subtle on the nose but deeper intertwined into the light and malty backbone of the new beer.

[33cl bottle from Tesco, Warfield.] A straw coloured pour with a fading white head; grapefruit aroma; sweet citrusy taste to start; then a pithy bitterness. A straightforward American Pale Ale, crisp and refreshing.

Draft @ BrewDog MalmΓΆ. Pours slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity grassy citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty piney grassy citrus hoppy flavor. Fruity citrus hoppy finish.

Can from BD Inverurie. It pours clear oily golden with a bubbly white head. The aroma is oily, sweet, resin, twist of citrus, marmalade, floral, grass and biscuity malt base. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, resin, sticky, pithy, citrus rind, peppery spice, biscuit, and some grassy vibes. Finish is dry and kind of resinous. Average body and average carbonation. Pretty forgettable stuff. Tastes like a supermarket own brand craft beer. So-so.

On tap at MailBox Lincoln. Pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma citrus with a sweetish to light bitter taste. Surprisingly full body.
