How the hell can you perfect a birthday cake imperial style ? It is perfectly executed like birthday cake stout. Not cloying and sweet. Excellent

bottle, bottled 06.10.2020 probably means oct.6th or perhaps june 10th. tasted 2024-apr-05 opened fine, has kept well, good craftmanship pours pitch black and viscious, settles with a small brown head. aroma of birthday cake with candy on it, licorice, chocolate, cake frosting, vanilla, sweet bakery bread, the striped-licorice-confect aroma you often gen from bourbon barrel aged imp stouts, very solid, very well balanced and very layered imp pastry stout aroma. good balance between a super sturdy base beer and all the cake flavors. Flavor is imp stout with licorice and roasted malts, and then a lot of sweet cake stuff going on, adding chocolate and cake frosting and candy and sweet bakery bread. going into the aftertaste the roasted malts and licorice regain control, landing a long sweet but also fairly imp stouty aftertaste. Very fullbodied flavor and aroma and viscosity, I don't dig cake stout much, but this one is heavy enough that it can handle the sweetness. In fact it's pretty darn awesome for the style. The bottle has kept very well. No signs at all of aging or off flavors, it also opened like it was fresh from the brewery.

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 11/02/23. Black with a moderate tan covering that escapes edgewards. Nose is chocolate fudge, nutty, dark malts, molasses, syrup, mellow roast. Taste comprises chocolate fudge cake, lick of booze, light spice, dark malts, brown sugar melt, vanilla, nutty. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Tidy pastry affair ... good bitter sweet interplay.

355ml bottle. Stuffy, sweet and heavy with sugary marshmallows, hints of burnt coffee and chocolate. A bit messy.

Bottled 06/10/2020. Not real thick, but smooth, and a bit boozy. Highly sweet, but I suppose that was promisrd. Dunno if birthday cake is a specific murican flavour, but I suppose there's some lactosy creamyness that might fit. Plenty vanilla as well.

Refrigerated 12 oz. squat bottle poured into a snifter. Black with very small beige head. Aroma is rich cake, medium/thick body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is chocolate and sweet cake.
