Our Barrels are stored in the Basement of the brewing barnhouse of the HillDevils located in the Wouwse Plantage, Holland. Every barrel has it's own unique characteristic flavours wich melt with the beer. We Aged the Big Black Boltini (Russian Imperial Stout) in the Peated Whisky Barrel for a period of 2 Months. PEATED!

From the sterk, Amsterdam in 2018. A long time in my cellar. Tasting it monday afternoon, free day and solid imperial stout, 100% pleasure with a clear note of smocked whisky,roasty, dry, boozy, dominant whisky, woody, bitter, coffee. 18.01.2025

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is smoky, peaty, biscuity toffee, chocolate, taste is sweet, chewy, peat, chocolate, thin.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Stas. Black, tan foam. Lots of peated whiskey, chocolate, roast, soy sauce, sweetish and a bit umami, roast, alcohol. Too peated for my liking.

Black with lasting thick head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of leather and earthiness. Full bodied. Slightly oily.

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitter met in het begin erg veel rook wat later wat aangenamer wordt. Licht zoet met iets van koffie en vanille maar uiteindelijk overheerst de rooksmaak iets te veel vind ik. Ik ben wat minder enthousiast dan eerdere recensisten omdat de rooksmaak iets te veel overheerst.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2018, Day 2. A black beer with a tan head. Aroma of peated malt, coffee, ash. Taste of burned dark malt, coffee, peated malt, ash, coal.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, peat, some soft roast. Flavor is similar: malts, moderately roasty, peat, fingerpaint I used as a kid, iodine, lightly bitter only. Decent body, quite low carbonation. Hmm no not a fan.

Bottle @ benzai. Sweet, peat, fingerpaint. I can't enjoy this. Rough barrel aging. I feel like they've made a mediocre stout and they threw it in a barrel just because that's the thing people do in 2017/2018.
