It was on the Isère side, at Nicolas de la Ferme de la Maye (38) that we went to get ratafia cherry juice, an intense and fruity juice. It brings a fruity and tangy character to the Imperial Kriek. It is then kept cold on oak made from Morgon wine barrels (a Beaujolais red wine). The wood releases its aromas and gives it intense vinous notes.

Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 7.5 | Flavor - 7.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 7.5
Beautiful deep ruby red colour, small short lasting deep pink fizzy head, Aroma cherry, oak/wood, confiture, vinous notes. Dry taste medium sweet and light sour, cherries, oak/wood, tannine, vinous notes. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Aftertaste as in taste, even dryer and more woody, unusual kriek different from the real thing because of the vinous character, tasty, good,
