Cask at the Monks’ Retreat (JDW), Reading. Golden amber with a ring of white head; gentle malt aroma; an unusually strong hoppy taste (for a mild), but not at all bitter, with an underlying milky body with some chocolate; and a smooth, dry finish. A tasty, different, mild.

Keighley Beer Festival 2014. Reddish-brown with a small frothy head and although a mild texture has perhaps too much of a sugared sweetness for its stated mild style. However it’s still a pretty decent ale.
