Heftily hopped & aroma packed, Hobgoblin IPA stays true to its ancestral traditions. Brewed with Fuggles, Golding & Styrian hops and then amped up by the addition of some mighty American hops. This collision of Old and New World hops provide an explosion of tropical aroma and a juicy bitterness. Born out of character.

Keg at Chippenham Park Bowls Club. Deep gold with a white head. Sweet lemon up front with a touch of apricot. Nice florals develop before green leaves come in at the end. Quite pleasant; better than I expected from Wychwood.

Some horrible pub opposite the bus station in Portsmouth. Aroma is malty and caramel. Clear chestnut. Foamy white head. Medium bitter. Grainy with a light sour berry edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Dry..that's about it.

Updated rate - on tap in Stirling, Highland Gate - better than bottle. More texture to it, a bit tastier, along the lines of a decent version of a Greene King IPA.

Can - which they delightfully call cask strength. Amber with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit marmalade, light bread. Lightish bodied and dryish with slightly crusty bread and mainly citrusy hops. Not sure there's any explosion of tropical aromas or anything juicy but it's a good beer.

Slightly dark amber pour with a small head, aromas of tropical fruits, some pine and malts. Taste is less fruity, more herbs, malts and pines (but in a good way). Sessionable, but nothing too memorable.

Tap in Kefalonia-Greece, @Draught Beer and Grill. Unclear golden leading to amber color, medium-low tick off-white foam. Nose: certainly malty, tea, tangerine, orange, a bit piney. Mouth: rose grapefruit, sharply citric, even tart.
